The Ribble catchment is the area of land that is drained by the River Ribble and its tributary rivers, becks and brooks. All of the running waters, referred to as water bodies, are connected.
This means that a poor quality beck, or inappropriate land management in one part of the catchment can reduce the environmental condition of the whole area. The Ribble catchment can be broken down into 5 sub-catchment areas.
