Colne Water

Colne Water is a watercourse formed at Covey Bridge near Laneshaw Bridge by the confluence of the River Laneshaw and Wycoller Beck in Pendle.  From there, the river runs in a westerly direction, collecting Trawden Brook at Cottontree before flowing through Colne and out towards Barrowford where Wanless Water joins just above the town.  It then meets Pendle Water at Lowerford, adjacent to the M65 motorway.  Pressure from livestock farming in the upper reaches and diffuse pollution attributed to rainfall runoff in urban areas are the biggest issues that face Colne Water.
